Patricia Collaretti Obituary

Patricia Collaretti

Palm City, FL

Patricia Collaretti (Trew), age 90, passed away on February 12, 2016 at her home in Palm City. She was born on May 12, 1925 in Bentleyville, Pennsylvania.

Patty graduated from Penn State University in 1947 with a degree in home economics and English. Throughout her life she remained a loyal Penn State football fan.

After college, Patty married Gene Collaretti also of Bentleyville. The couple, who were married for 49 years, moved to Pequannock, New Jersey and managed a thriving business – Acme Fabrics.

Patty and Gene were active members of Holiday Lake Country Club in Sussex, New Jersey.

In the mid 1980's Patty and Gene moved to Martin Downs in Palm City and were members at Martin Downs Country Club. At Martin Downs, Patty was a founding member of a women's group - the "Nifty Niners." The women played golf and then afterwards played bridge. Eventually most had to give up golf. The group continues today, meeting for bridge and dinner once a week.

Patty was a member of Palm City Presbyterian Church in Palm City.

Predeceased by her husband Gene, she is survived by her son, Lance of Port St. Lucie.

A memorial service will be held on March 12 at 11:00 at the Palm City Presbyterian Church, 2700 SW Martin Highway, Palm City.

If angels really do walk the earth, surely Patty was one of them. Such a big heart to beat in such a petite being. So quick, so generous to look to the good in people and in life's travails. Patty was a dear and loving friend. And I loved her so. I'll carry her in the center of my heart, always.

Patty was like a mother to me, always available, always a kind word and an encouraging thought. I will miss her stories, and the times we shared, our memories that brought us comfort. Patty, there are many loving people awaiting you in heaven with open arms. I love you and will miss you always.

patty was a part of my family; always a kind and encouraging word. Always someone I could turn to to talk about anything, without judgement. I love her so, and her spirit will always be with us all who truly loved her.
