Pearl Gilbert Malone, 97, was born in Moscow, Kansas on March 23, 1921, and grew up experiencing life on a prairie farm at it's most basic... and, she wanted more. She moved to Florida as a single adventurous young woman right after high school graduation with a friend - that was 1949 - and she never looked back. Her first job was as a legal secretary then eventually retired from a successful real estate career in Delray Beach in 1986. She moved to Vero Beach and was the 5th equity member of the Grand Harbor Golf & Beach Club where she was active in forming the Womens' 18 Hole Golf Association. She loved the outdoors and was an avid golfer and tennis player and an excellent bridge player. Her last move was 14 years ago to the Regency Park as their first resident. Here she soon became a winning bingo player and loved rolling those quarters!

Pearl was pre-deceased by her parents, siblings and husband. She leaves her "My Debbie", Deborah Fletcher and her husband Bill, whom she loved dearly and called her daughter. As well, she leaves too many dear friends to name - at Grand Harbor and at the Regency. Pearls Girls and her bridge group were very special to her. Deep appreciation is expressed to those that stopped in to visit so often as well as her caregivers, her PA Ellen and in the end the Hospice team. Her strong spirit kept her with us as long as she chose...

She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach.

Pearl was always very independent and to know her was to love her! She talked to everyone and seemed to know everything and if she didn't she found out. She was especially kind to staff whether they be mowing grass on the golf course, cooking her dinner or cleaning her apartment. Her sparkling white hair and broad smile were easy to identify. Our dear Pearl was 'one of a kind' and will be missed by many.
