ROBERT HARPER Obituary


ROBERT HARPER Robert Harper, 89, passed away on February 11, 2015 at Port St. Lucie Medical Hospital. Bob was born in Binghamton, NY on April 27, 1925. He was predeceased by his wife Florence, sisters Ruth Lasky and Dorothy Eaton, brother Ken Harper, and niece Cynthia Chaplin. He is survived by his son Steve Harper (Stephanie) of Washington, grandson Jason Harper (Jill) of NC, granddaughter Kim Harper of California, sister-in-law Gail Lopresti (Ken) of NY, niece Susan Barvinchak (Corky) of CO, nephews Charles Eaton of NY, Ron Lasky (Karen) of MA, Robert Harper (Amy) of NC, and Jim Harper (Sharon) of MA, and Bette Richardson, his beloved end of life partner in FL. Bob owned Harper's Service Station in Hillcrest, NY for over 34 years. He enjoyed boating and water skiing on Owasco Lake, NY and snow skiing at Greek Peak, NY and Keystone, CO. Bob was a "people" person, always helping others everywhere he went. He will be deeply missed. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, April 27th in Port St. Lucie, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to bethematch.org in Bob Howell's name, he is a beloved son-in-law fighting leukemia. Visit Bob's online memorial website at memorialwebsites.legacy.com.

I knew Bob when I was a child growing up on the corner across the street from his garage ! Always went there for our soda pop and Bob was so friendly and nice to all of the kids in the neighborhood.. I have good memories of Hillcrest and those wonderful years. GOD BLESS and RIP Mr. Harper...

We were sorry to read about bob passing on. I knew him my whole life. We went to his service station, and lived in Hillcrest near them. We now live in Port Saint Lucie, Florida and have run into bob here a few times over the last few years. Sincerely, Bertie Schmidt Sullivan and Fran Sullivan

Many happy memories of Bob for almost 20 years here at our pool at Savanna Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Spent pool/spa time with him daily/weekly. He will be greatly missed.
