Hey, Dad, yesterday was the 18th anniversary of your passing.

I wanted to say that I love you, appreciate what you did for me and Paul as a single parent after Mom died.

I will ALWAYS remember the baseball time we shared together, you were such a great hitting catcher, and to this day, I thank you for my athletic ability.

Thank you for coming to the games I pitched in college; it made me so happy to see you in the stands...thanks for the support.

And you were right, when I was 10, and they wanted to bring me up to the highest level in Little League, and I skipped a couple levels...you were right, and I'm sorry I pressured you to let that happen...I lost playing time; it cost me.

I miss you for the camaraderie we shared as fisherman.

Even the disagreements we had; you always did your best.

As I get older, I have applied what you taught me: to be precise, to be assertive, and to care about others.

You did such a great job, from growing up in a poor family, to attending an Ivy League school, to being a key person on the Apollo 11 mission.

I might be considered a genius on paper, like your sister Pearl, but, Dad, I don't think I could have ever been as consistent as you were.

And I thank you for everything you did.

I miss you every day...thanks Dad.

Papa Sharp-

A legendary father of a legendary son! Paul, I am sorry for your loss. I knew of your father as a fun man who was welcomed by all your friends whenever you brought him around. He and we all knew you loved him very much. Sorry to see him leave us so soon.
