Theresa Holliday Benedict, 72, of Fort Pierce, passed peacefully early Monday morning.

Born in Ithaca, NY, 1945 she was the daughter of Charles and Irene Holliday. She leaves her husband of 49 years, Fredric C. Benedict; daughter, Nicole (Craig); beloved grandchildren, Austin, Clara Gene and Nicholas Vines; brother, Louie (Kathy) Holliday of Scottsburg, Indiana.

Theresa was a graduate of Geneva High class of 1963 and Crouse Irving Nursing School class of 1966. She was a member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary 1999-2002, the Director of Surgery at Port St. Lucie Medical for over 20 years and a Reiki Master. She loved life, was fearless, always saw the good in everyone and everything but most important she was a fighter. If it could be done, she could do it!

Dearest Fred, Nicole, family and extended family and friends.....
There are truly no adequate words for such a huge loss, where you are concerned, Terri Terri you have left us all with many tears but mostly the inspiration to move forward. I know this personally because you helped me so much with the passing of my son Matthew. Ever the giver that you are , you took the time and effort to share tears with me. Now it is truly a mystery as to where and when we will meet again my sweet, dear friend. We will come together again one day I'm sure of it. You have so much more teaching and guiding us to do. Your very essence will be felt and with us as we move slowly without you by our side. And your dear sweet family will always be in our hearts and thoughts. We won't forget them as the days pass because you will be there to remind us they need our encouragement, love and gentle reminder of YOU, their true Hero and guiding light and that you will lead us all to our everlasting resting place. I look forward to meeting up with you in whatever form your are from this day forward. Come visit so we can continue our beautiful talks. Your beauty will shine on forever and we will know you are there. Your Angel wings will enfold all those you love with your everlasting gift of encouragement and Devine love.

It is difficult to find adequate words to express such a devastating loss. Terri was one of a kind, the best there was. She was a treasure in my life and she was my hero. She will forever hold a special place in my heart and I will love her until the end of time.
