I and my father, John "Duke" Corbiere, would like to pass on condolences to Billy's family.
My dad was Chief when Billy played at the opening of our arena in 1977, at the Rankin Indian Reserve. I was just a teenager when i met Billy. he and dad would exchange phone calls over the years. the last time was perhaps 10 years ago. Dad and I often wondered about Billy.
Billy is on his spirit journey .

In the mid 70's as a police officer with the Salt Lake City Police Department I had the privilege of being on the security team watching out for Billy and the boys. Billy and I got to be good friends, when I went on an extradition to Nashville I was invited to his house and was introduced to his family. Later that night we went to fund raiser and then he showed me Nashville. I still wear the turquoise ring he gave me with his initials inside. To his family we express our sincere condolences. R.I.P. my friend.
