I have had the luxury of knowing my Grandpa for all of my memorable life. Both as friend and foe. Sometimes we were having a squirt gun Mexican standoff. And as the defender of liberty, with a squirt of water I vanquished my (insert applicable enemy here)foe. Other times we were wartime allies storming the beaches of Iwo Jima. No one lives forever but memories do. I remember every visit having a alligator shaped raft waiting for me in the pool. I remember going fishing expecting to catch the marlin on grandpas wall only to catch the sea robin we threw back. nothing will ever change the precious time i spent with grandpa. I like to think of grandpa as a gigantic Marlin, who for so long has been swimming in a pond that has been draining little by little. Now he has at last been transferred into the ocean he belongs. He can swim and breathe and grow. and think of all the people who love him. I love you Grandpa. May your scales glimmer and your gills never be dry.

I'm going to miss you beyond words, Dad. Your wit, your stoicism, your humor; they live on in my heart, as do you.

Joan dear,
We have been friends for about 70 years. Although we met Bud only once, it was evident that he was a strong and happy person and so in love with you. We are so very sorry that he passed away and may God be with you and give you strength in the coming years. Much love, Fran and Rich in Vermont.
