William Moomey Obituary

William G. "The Moom" Moomey, 65, died May 29, 2010, at the Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach. He was born in Muscatine, Iowa, and lived in Fort Pierce for 10 years, coming from his birthplace. Before retiring, he was purchasing manager for Pressure Pro in Fort Pierce. He was a member of the American Legion Post 40, AMVETS Post 15, Elks Lodge 1520 and Moose Lodge 248, all in Fort Pierce. Survivors include his mother, Phyllis V. Moomey of Fort Pierce; daughters, Heather Portz and Erin Baker, both of Davenport, Iowa, and Colleen Moomey and Candice Fuegen, both of Muscatine, Iowa; sons, Scott Francis Moomey, Greg Moomey and William J. Moomey, all of Muscatine; sisters, Kathleen L. Jones, Denice M. Selph, Paula S. Brown, Lisa J. Huff and Angi L. Trefelner, all of Fort Pierce; and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, William F. Moomey; and brother, Meredith Moomey. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852. Services: Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. June 2 at Yates Funeral Home & Crematory, Fort Pierce, with a celebration of life service at 8 p.m. Interment will be private.
