Wynoma Okoye Obituary

Wynoma Webb Okoye, 52, died Aug. 19, 2008, at Florida Hospital, Orlando. A native of Indian River County, she attended the public schools of Indian River County and was a graduate of Vero Beach High. She was employed with the Department of the State of Florida as a social worker. She attended Indian River Community College, graduating with an associate's degree. She also completed additional studies at Florida Atlantic University. She was a volunteer worker with the Gifford Youth Activity Center in Gifford. Survivors included her husband, Kingsley Okoye of Orlando; sons, Joseph Webb of Vero Beach and Stephen Thomas Jr. of Boynton Beach; brothers, James Webb Jr., Lonnie Webb and Willie Webb, all of Vero Beach; sisters, Margaret Webb Whitfield, Ernestine Webb Williams, Airlene Dorsey, Irene Trusty, Alice Webb, all of Vero Beach; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Margaret Webb Sr.; brothers, Allen Webb, Virgil Webb and Paul Webb; sisters, Christine Webb and Rollann Monroe. SERVICES: Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 22 at Mount Zion AME Church, 4221 28th Ave., Gifford. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Aug. 23 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Gifford. Arrangements are by Stone Brothers Funeral Chapel. A guest book may be signed at www.stonebrothersfuneralhome.com.
