Daniel Harmon Obituary

Daniel Jay Harmon, 46, of Longview passed away Jan. 26, 2009, at home.

He was born May 31, 1962, in Morton, Wash., to Marion J. and Della I. (Sewell) Harmon. Dan graduated with the R.A. Long High School Class of 1980 and attended Clark College on a track scholarship.

In August of 1986 Dan married Tammie Jason. They had two children. They later divorced but remained good friends.

Dan was a paper maker for Longview Fibre Co. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time in the woods with his brother, Tim Harmon. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his children, Chelsea and Myles. Dan had a dry sense of humor and a big heart.

Dan is survived by his grandpa, Oliver Sewell of Sequim, Wash.; his mother, Della Harmon of Longview; his siblings and their spouses, Kim and Bryce Divine, Tim and Jodi Harmon, and Kris and Joe Mawae, all of Longview and Kathy and Don Dibblee of Castle Rock; his children, Chelsea Harmon and Myles Harmon, both of Longview; his former wife, Tammie Sabo of Longview; eight beloved nieces and nephews; a great-niece; and many aunts and uncles.

A celebration of Dan's life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park & Crematory.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Care Center or the American Heart Association.

Dan, I cant believe it's been a year ... yet the pain of losing you is still so strong. I miss you so much my heart hurts every day. I miss your laugh, I miss your smile, I miss seeing you in your "eye" hat, I miss our walks, I miss watching you push peoples buttons and then laugh about it, I miss kicking your butt in croquet (even with your black ball), I just really miss having my brother in my life! I'm sorry I lived life like there would always be a tomorrow ... Thank you for being such a great brother!! I love and Miss you with all my heart !!

your brother

January 26, 2010

Well it has been a year already. This has been the lonliest year of my life. I think a lot of people feel that way. I think about you everyday, and on the days that it seems unbearable I think about something that we did together and it makes me smile. I love you Dan, and I was the luckiest big brother in the world to have you for a little brother.

Della and Family!

I can hardly believe that it has almost been a year since Dan left this physical world. There isn't a day that Earl and I do not talk about Dan and how everyone loved him. Words cannot begin to express the sense of loss that the family has felt. I know that Dan and Marion are having a great time hunting and spending time together. Della, Earl and I are always here for you and the family! We love you all!

Well it is hunting season. It isn't the same without you. I miss just talking with you and making fun of everyone. We got our deer, and I have a bull picked out. Hunting isn't the same, I have never been so lonely in the woods. I miss you Dan, and I love you like no one will ever know.

Thanks for all you've done. I've missed you for so long. I can't believe you're gone. You still live in me. I feel you in the wind, you guide me constantly. I've never knew what it was to be alone, no. 'Cause you were always there for me. You were always home waiting. But now I come home. And I miss your face so. Smiling down on me. I close my eyes to see. And I know You're a part of me. And it's your song that sets me free. I sing it while I feel I can't hold on. I sing tonight 'Cause it comforts me. I carry the things that remind me of you. In loving memory of the one that was so true. You were as kind as you could be. And even though you're gone you still mean the world to me. I'm glad He set you free from sorrow. But I'll still love you more tomorrow. And you'll be here with me still. All you did, you did with feeling. And you always found a meaning and you always will..

I love you Dad.

I will always remember all the times that Dan tried to get me going for whatever reason. He had such a dry sense of humor, but I loved that part of him. He was a very giving soul and always willing to help his Uncle Earl or anyone for that matter. He so loved his children, they were his babies. Dan will truly be missed by all of his family and friends.

We miss so much growing up, and then we move away. I am sorry that I did not have the opportunity to keep in touch and to get to know you better, and the rest of my cousins. Life gets so busy, too busy, you work long hours, children die, friends die, neighbors die, and now more family dies. I will remember our childhood years and the family things we did together. Family reunions......so long ago. You will be missed by my family that stayed in Washington and kept in contact with you. I will remember the years when life was not expecting us to do more than have fun. And now we are older, full of responsibilities and no time to keep in touch; I am truly sorry for that. May your family find the peace of God during this time. Your cousin Bonnie Roberts (Sewell)

Thank you everyone for all of the support we have all recieved. Dan was lucky to have all of the friends he had. A part of me has died in losing my brother. He honestly was my best friend. He always bragged about his family, but we were the ones who truly had someone to brag about. he was the best human being and I will miss him.
rest peacefully with Dad and Gary and put a good word in for me with God.

I'm so heartbroken for his children, Chelsea and Myles. I've known Dan for over 20 years and I will pray for peace for him and his family and friends tonight.

Today I awoke to findout that I have one less friend on this Earth. I remember back when we were much younger Dan and played baseball together. Young kids looking to the future and what it has to offer. We have all taken different journeys since then. I hope that your new journey will bring you happiness and that your children and family will know that your looking down on us with that classic "Clint Eastwood" smile!

I hope to see you again someday Dan.

It will be the little things that you will remenber the quiet moments, the smiles, the laughter. And although it may seem hard right now it will be the memories of these little things that help us push away the pain and bring the smiles back again. I love you Dan. Say hi to Uncle Marion for me.

To all of Dans family,
Dan was such a fun loving guy and will forever be missed. He had such a great personality and could make anyone laugh with the things that he said. Dan loved his family and was so proud of his kids. Everytime I talked to him he bragged about his kids and Tammie. I know that his brother was his best friend and he enjoyed their time together. He loved you all very much. He may not be here with you anymore, but there is no doubt he is watching over you all from heaven. You are all in my thoughts and prayers!
