Dan Mulford, 88, a longtime resident of Rainier, Ore., passed away peacefully at home on March 30, 2025.

Dan moved to Oklahoma two years ago to live with his son, Bruce, and his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna, as well as his parents.

Dan instilled in his children the importance of hard work and the value of true friendship- a lesson he lived by every day and passed on. His working career was as varied as it was meaningful, including time spent showing cattle, serving in the Army, and working as a logger. However, he enjoyed working most with his wife, Donna, at Mulford's Nursery and Landscape, where their passion for nature and community flourished. Dan also had a deep passion for cooking and baking and enjoyed sharing his homemade meals and treats with others. While living in Oklahoma, Dan enjoyed sunny afternoons on the patio, visiting with family, and even found a new interest in women's college softball.

Those mourning his loss include three children, Kevin Mulford, Bruce Mulford, and wife, Kim, and Annette Henry, and husband, Auguie; one sibling, Beatrice Mulford; grandchildren, Haley van Os and husband, Martijn, Emily McDermott and husband Brian, and Damian Heinz and wife, Caity; great-grandchildren, Juliette and Nora van Os, Amelia McDermott, and Audrey and Cooper Heinz; a brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law; and countless nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 30, 2025, at the Green Mountain Cemetery in Rainier, Ore. After the service, a light lunch will be served at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Rainier, Ore.
