Deborah Hannah Obituary

Deborah Diane Hannah

February 27, 1949 - November 5, 2024

Deborah "Debbie" Diane Hannah, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on November 5th, 2024, at Hospice in Longview, WA, surrounded by family and dear friends. She was 75.

Born on February 27th, 1949, in Longview, WA, to Raymond and Margaruite Hahn, Debbie was the firstborn of their four children. A graduate of Kalama High School's class of 1967, she soon married the love of her life, Jack C. Hannah, on September 20th, 1968, at the Methodist Church in Kalama. This past September, Jack and Debbie celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary.

A woman of deep faith, Debbie found her spiritual home at Longview First Christian Church, where she and her family were baptized together in 1988. Her unwavering belief was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her through challenges, including her battle with cancer, and inspiring those around her with grace, resilience, and love.

In 1984, Debbie joined the workforce with a part-time job in the mailroom at the Longview Daily News. Over the course of her 32 years at the Daily News, she worked her way up to the mailroom supervisor position. She went to work daily, enjoying her role with paper and the many amazing co-workers, many of whom became close family friends she remained close to until her passing.

Debbie is survived by her devoted husband Jack; daughter and son-in-law Ed and Jenifer Stevens; son and daughter-in-law John and Lisa Hannah; and her cherished grandchildren, Delanie Hannah, Jackson Hannah, and Dalton Stevens, each of whom she adored and encouraged in their pursuits. Her siblings, Randy Hahn, Mike and Sue Ferland, and Eric and Lisa Hollinger.

Debbie spent her final days in the loving company of family, close friends, and several cousins who cherished her compassion, wit, and humor. Her warmth, faith, and dedication to her family and friends leave a legacy that will be remembered with love and admiration.

Please consider sending arrangements to the Steel Chapel at Longview Memorial to honor Debbie's memory. Your kind gestures and memories are deeply appreciated during this time. Her memorial service is scheduled for November 16th at 1 p.m. at Kalama Church of the Nazarene.

Oh, gosh. Just discovered the loss of Debbie. I worked with her at The Daily News. She was a super worker and such a good colleague. She would do anything for you. Once I asked if she could insert Popcorn bags into the newspaper as a promotion. She said, oh sure, I'm willing to try anything! Of course we never did but the point is she would always say "yes". I would always ask her first for something special before going to her boss because I knew her boss would automatically say "no". I am so sorry to hear of her loss, my sympathies to her families and friends. Hal

Debbie was always a smiling face on the school bus and I enjoyed the ride when we sat together. Jack, you were always fun to sit near in classes, and we occasionally got in trouble for passing notes. I am sure your memories will bring comfort in your loss. You have a great family to help give you strength.. sorry I couldn't be at the funeral today, but both of you are in my thoughts and prayers.
