Elma Golden Obituary

Longtime local resident Elma Golden, 87, of Castle Rock passed away Dec. 26, 2008, at a local adult care facility.

Curly was born Aug. 3, 1921, in Riffe, Wash., to Otto F. and Madge Jane (Faultner) Cook.

Survivors include a son, Dallas G. Hearld of Winlock; two daughters, Madge Darlene Huls of Toutle and Verra Bohna of Castle Rock; a sister, Joy "Sis" Kessler of Silver Lake; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Curly was preceded in death by her husbands, James William Hearld, Keith Carnine and Ivan T. Golden; four brothers, Leland Cook, Leonard Cook, Pete Cook and Joe Cook; two sisters, Erma Haney and Ellen Pomeroy; and a grandson, Steven Huls.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Silver Lake Cemetery. Dr. John Leffler will officiate. Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Cascade Northwest Funeral Chapel at Green Hills Memorial Gardens & Crematory.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Home Health & Hospice.

Though I am the new pastor at St. Paul Lutheran, I know that Emma had been a member of St. Paul for many years. On behalf of the congregation, I want to express my sympathy to all her family. May God give you peace and comfort amid your loss.
