Ida Guetzloe Obituary

Ida May Guetzloe, 66 of Kalama, Washington, died November 19, 2003, in Longview. She was born July 14, 1937 in Orofino, Idaho to Ezra and Anna Warner.

Mrs. Guetzloe graduated from Kamiah High School in 1955. She lived in the local area for 46 years. She married Lewis Guetzloe on March 2, 1957 in Kamiah, Idaho.

Ida May was a bartender at the Town Tavern in Kalama from 1969 until she bought the bar in 1984 from her sister-in-law, Jeanne Reynolds. After the tavern closed in 2001, she worked part-time at Kalamitys Lounge in Kalama.

She was a member and Treasurer of the Columbia River Eagles # 4322. She was also a member and Right-Support to the Noble Grand of the IOOF, Chapter 102.

Ida May enjoyed working with jigsaw puzzles and word puzzles, as well as working in her yard. She loved being around her children, grandchildren and great-grandson. She loved the holidays and having her family come for dinner. She especially enjoyed the neighbor children in costumes at Halloween.

She was a caring, loving, even-tempered lady and was very dedicated to her husband, family, clubs and work. She was a very giving person, who would help whenever and wherever she could.

Ida May passed away on her mother's birthday.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Theron Warner and her daughter, Sherene Guetzloe.

Survivors include her husband Lewis Guetzloe of Kalama; two sons and daughters-in-law, Russell and Sandy Guetzloe of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Greg and Schehera Guetzloe of San Antonio, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Jeannie and Robin Johnson of Kalama, Washington; four granddaughters, Emily Guetzloe of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Amanda Watson of Kalama, Washington, Erin Guetzloe and Tara Guetzloe both of San Antonio, Texas, two granddaughters and their husbands, Rachel and Colby Wolfer of Wainwright, Alaska, Sarah and Jason Allen of Klamath Falls, Oregon; grandson, Jared Watson of Kalama, Washington; great-grandson, Trevor Allen of Klamath Falls, Oregon; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Louise and Bud Woods of Kamiah, Idaho, Verla and Lee Wilsey of Kooskia, Idaho; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Monday, November 24th, at 1:00 p.m. at the IOOF Hall in Kalama, Washington.

Memorial contributions may be made in Ida's name to Festival of Tree's Radiation Oncology, 1615 Delaware St., P.O. Box 3002, Longview, WA. 98632.

Dahl-McVicker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Ida May. I know my Mother(the late Roberta Walton) spoke of Ida May often. Now the two of them can be playing pull tabs up in Heaven. My condolences to the family.
