August 23, 1963 - April 10, 2024
CLATSKANIE, OR - James (Jim) Gerald Carver passed away too young after a long battle with dementia. He was born on August 23, 1963 in The Dalles Oregon to Gerald and Donna Carver. He attended Wahtonka High School where he played on the football team and graduated in 1982. He moved to Clatskanie that year with his family to the farm his father Gerald (Jerry) was raised on. Jim worked as a mechanic at a Poplar tree Farm in Quincy until it was set ablaze by environmentalists. He married Gayle Devine and had 13 children. He obtained a job at Georgia Pacific as a millwright where he retired. He loved spending time with his kids showing them life skills, vehicle mechanics, hunting, fishing and teaching them life values and morals. Jim loved God and going to church, reading from the Bible and teaching his kids scripture. He was loved by his family, friends, church families and co workers.
Jim is survived by his sisters: Linda (Steve) Burleson of Salem and Sandy (James) Carver of Clatskanie; his 13 children: Virginia (David) Carver, Rachael (Kevin) Donaldson, Megan (Darren) Leake, Beth Carver, John (Anna) Carver, Olivia (Justin) Krotzer, Nellie (Jesse) Carver, Emma (Kyle) Carver, William Carver, Gideon Carver, Jaclyn (Gulian) Carver, Charity (Jayden) Carver, Alton Carver and 13 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Westport Community Church on Tuesday, April 16 at 3PM.
