Linda Broderius Obituary

Linda Helen Broderius

May 2, 1947 - December 12, 2024

Linda Helen Broderius, 77, of Longview passed away December 12, 2024 at her home.

She was born on May 2, 1947, in Modesto, CA to Robert and Wanda (Ahlvin) Byrns. Linda and her older brother Stan overcame many hardships together growing up. They eventually relocated to the Spokane, WA area where Linda graduated from East Valley High School in 1965.

On December 31, 1966, she married Henry Broderius. They had two sons, Todd and Chad, and moved to Longview, WA in 1974. They enjoyed family and friends, had many adventures camping together and were very active in their kids' lives. They later divorced but remained lifelong friends.

After that, things got a little spicy. Linda bought a muscle car ('74 Firebird Formula - super fast!!!). She started running the Lake, had fun with her girlfriends, enjoyed music and dancing and took many road trips up and down the West Coast with friends. She made a good life for herself.

Linda worked locally at Longview Fibre for 31 years. She worked in the Bag Plant 'Stereo' Department, the Box Plant, and in the Storeroom at the time of her retirement in 2005. She had an amazing work ethic that she passed on to her family. Linda had great memories of the many friends she made at the Mill.

After retiring, Linda spent as much time as she could with her ten grandchildren (Angie, Jacob, Johnny, Noah, Jonah, Mary, Jenna, Sammy, Amy, and Joshua) they were her pride and joy and are sure to remember her for "the sillies" and unique gifts from Grandma on birthdays and holidays. Her time in the garden at her home on Lilac Street topped her list of hobbies and brought her so much peace. She was also able to take trips to Hawaii (with friends) and Alaska (with her sons), which she enjoyed very much. She had a special love for her dogs Mollie and Bailey and, most recently, Lil Nugget.

Linda had a passion for life and love in her heart. She will be remembered as a welcoming, friendly, inquisitive person. She was always meticulous about her appearance (she even traded clothes back and forth with her granddaughters, she was that cool). She had a much prettier smile than she ever gave herself credit for. She loved being a mom, including to her daughter-in-law "Pammy", and an Aunt to her nieces and nephews. More than anything, Linda would want her family and friends to know that She Loved Them.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday January 25th at 12 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Longview, WA.

It was always enjoyable visiting with Linda. She was always trying to please her two sons for sure. She loved them dearly. Sorry to hear she´s not hear anymore but she´s not hurting and she´s for sure dancing with the angels.
Thoughts and prayers for Chad and Todd and all their families.

Aunt Linda had a beautiful smile and an infectious laugh. I had the privilege of being her eldest niece on the Broderius side of our family, and with that came several stays with Aunt Linda, Uncle Henry, and Todd when he was a baby, and Chad, after he was born. I thoroughly enjoyed my stays and only have great memories of times spent together including camping and other family-centric activities.

I remember the first time we met Aunt Linda at Grandma and Grandpa's home in Mt. Vernon. Uncle Henry was the cool younger brother of our mother and so Linda automatically got the label "cool," too! She lived up to the label!
She was such a sweet person, fun, and I will miss her. She was never judgmental, always supportive and a real pleasure to spend time with in person or on the phone.

My deepest sympathies to my cousins Chad, Todd and their families, and to others who were related to or friends with her. She's gone but will not be forgotten.

We have purchased a memorial tree to be planted in the Green Diamond Fire area, located in Oregon, and a location where perhaps one day we can stand in the forest we contributed to in her memory and honor and she will be there, surrounding us. I think she would have like that idea.

Dear sweet aunt Linda. You will always be a part of my heart with the many memories we made over the years. You were special to me and I´ll always remember the times we spent talking and laughing on the phone for hours. You were such a beautiful lady and I will love you always.
Sending heartfelt condolences to cousins Chad and Todd. I wish I could make it to the service, but due to my flight out I missed it by a few hours. Take care and forever keep her beautiful memory alive. Hugs, Kathy, Bryan & Marissa
