Patricia Jane "Janie" Polm

1942 - 2025

Patricia Jane "Janie" Polm, 83, of Longview, Washington, passed away peacefully at her residence on September 4, 2025.

Janie was born on March 21, 1942, at Fort Oglethorpe Hospital in Georgia to Ernest W. Tester and Elizabeth M. (Holloway) Tester. She grew up as a military child around the U.S. and abroad, including Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Livorno, Italy. She graduated from Salinas High School in Salinas, California in 1960.

On July 8, 1960, she married the love of her life, John Polm. They shared 52 years of marriage until his passing in August 2012. Together they built a life grounded in family, faith, and community.

Janie was a woman of many joys. She loved singing, the theatre, family, and the companionship of her dogs. She was active in local theatre and a faithful member of the greater community and the Longview United Methodist Church, where her voice, warmth, leadership and friendship enriched the lives of many.

She is survived by her three children: Cynthia (Williams), John Polm Jr., and Melissa (Aden), her sister Katherine Couch, seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She is also remembered with love by her devoted friend and companion, Willis Williams, as well as extended family and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Longview United Methodist Church. All who knew and loved Janie are welcome to attend and share in remembering her remarkable life.
