Ryan Moore Obituary
On February 14, 2024, Ryan Reese Moore, age 45, passed away peacefully in his sleep in Lanham Maryland. Known for his big smile and love of people, he left his loving family and host of close friends much too soon. Born September 26, 1978, Ryan grew up in Longview and Long Beach Washington. He was a 1998 graduate of Ilwaco High School, where he was on the Cross Country Team. During high school, he worked at the local McDonalds. Known for his patriotism, it was of no surprise, that immediately after graduation he joined the U.S. Army. He served his country for 17 years in Puerto Rico, Germany, South Korea, two tours in Iraq, and two tours in Afghanistan. He was honorably discharged, later deemed 100 percent disabled, from Belvoir Virginia. During the Army he served in the Intelligence Department as a Senior Intelligence Analyst. After discharge he was recruited by various Intelligence Private Contractors. At the time of his death, he had been working as a Professional Intelligence Analyst at Booz Allen Hamilton. He loved the Intelligence field, received many commendations and on several occasions was requested personally by high-ranking officers and civilians to do specific tasks. As one co-worker remarked to his father, you'll never know just how good your son was in his field. That coincided with when his father asked him exactly what he did, Ryan jokingly would say "if I told you I'd have to kill you."
Ryan loved the Army and stayed in contact with so many of his Army brothers and sisters! He was especially close to the friends he made at Booze Allen. Since he was a very young boy, he loved helicopters and had been taking helicopter flying lessons until his disability grounded him. Fishing was a hobby he enjoyed but the big ones always got away. Ryan's ashes took their last flight from Washington DC to Casa Grande Arizona and will take one last road trip home with his dad to Long Beach. A Life unfinished, Ryan will be greatly missed!
Ryan is survived by his wife Laila, stepdaughter Maria, son Nathan of Puerto Rico (mother Yessenia), son Dade and daughter Khloe (mother Elena Hazlewood (Jeremy), Mother Aileen (Ali) Klawitter (stepfather Dan) all of Kelso Washington, brother Ralph Moore Jr. ( Barbara) of Castle Rock, Father Ralph Moore (Barb) of Long Beach, stepmother Penny Stanley, stepbrother Justin Opsahl, and stepsister Dana (Whit) Davis all of Castle Rock, and stepsister Corina Opsahl of Sedro Wooley and numerous nieces and nephews.
A service will be held June 29 at St Mary's Catholic Church in Seaview Washington. Rosary will begin at 10:30 am, Mass at 11:00 am and luncheon to follow.
