Tommy Smith Obituary

Eldon Tommy Eldon Smith, 79, of Kalispell, Montana passed away peacefully at home on July 9, 2023.

Tom was born September 29, 1943 in San Jose, CA to John and Mabel Smith. He lived most of his life in the Longview, WA area where he worked as an electrician. Much of his career was spent with JH Kelly managing the contract electrical team at Norpac. After retirement, Tom and Cheri, his wife of 59 years, relocated to Green Valley, AZ where they enjoyed golfing, entertaining with friends, traveling and sightseeing. They also traveled throughout the United States visiting the many historic landmarks. After 11 years, they returned to the Pacific Northwest to be closer to family. Tom was an avid golfer and firearms enthusiast supporting the NRA, Wounded Warriors Project, local law enforcement and many others. Tom spoke often of how blessed he was and how much he loved his family. His love for the Lord was evident, even during his illness.

Tom is survived by his devoted wife and best friend, Cheri, his four daughters, Chelly (Sheldon) Reesor of North Ogden, UT, Teresa (Ram) Manthe of Portland, OR, Patti (Lance) Elam of Kalispell, MT, and Maria (Roger) Free of Longview, WA. He leaves 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by

his brothers Bill (Betty) Smith, Dave (Maggie) Smith, and sister Alice Redmon. Preceding him in death are his parents John and Mabel Smith and brother Leon Smith.

Please join us in honoring his life at Steele Chapel, Longview Memorial Park in Longview, WA on Friday, July 21, 2023 at 11 am. Following the service, a Celebration of Life gathering will be held at the home of Maria and Roger Free, 3133 Laurel Road in Longview.
