Adela Weaver Obituary

Adela Mary Weaver, 88, of Dayville, died Thursday at Pierce Memorial Baptist Home in Brooklyn. She was born in Putnam, February 23, 1921, daughter of the late Mike and Mary (Cwieck) Szela. She was married to Richard J. Weaver on October 15, 1949, he survives her.

Mrs. Weaver worked at the former Wm. Prym and later for Jacobs Rubber until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Dayville where she was very active in church activities including the Rosary Society. She and her husband were avid square dancers in their younger days. She was a member of Quinebaug Valley Senior Citizens and had traveled extensively.

Besides her husband she is survived by her nieces and nephews, Edward Szela and his wife Lorri of Plainfield, Duncan Szela and his wife Jean of Woodstock, Caroline Szela and Beverly Szela both of Dudley, MA, Janice Yeitz and her husband Patrick of Danielson, Wayne Weaver and his wife Carol of Sun City, AZ, Bruce Weaver and his wife Peggy of Danielson and numerous grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Ted, Mickey, Henry and Joseph Szela.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 9-10:30 A.M. in Tillinghast Funeral Home, 433 Main Street, Danielson followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. in St. Joseph's Church, Dayville. Burial will follow in Dayville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory should be made to St. Joseph's Church, P.O. Box 487, Dayville, CT 06241.
