After serving his country, Al was a letter carrier for the Worcester Post Office, until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of the Greendale Retirement Club, the NARFE, and the St. Andrew's Men's Club and the Pitch League. He was a longtime member of St. George's Church in Worcester.
