Ann Kirkpatrick Obituary

Ann M. (DeVarney) Kirkpatrick, 48, of Newell Hill Road, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2010 in Saint Vincent Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She leaves her husband of 28 years, Robert M. Kirkpatrick, Sr.; her son, Robert M. Kirkpatrick, Jr. of Sterling; her daughter, Karen Tadry and her husband Matthew of Sterling; her mother, Elvira "Toni" A. (Ciccone) DeVarney of Leominster; a brother, William J. DeVarney of West Boylston; and a niece, Elizabeth DeVarney of Northborough. Ann was born and raised in Leominster, the daughter of the late Norman J. DeVarney, who died in 1993.

Ann graduated from Leominster High School in 1981 and later the Henry School of Hair Design in Fitchburg. She was a driver for Brewer & Lowe Village Transportation Co. in Sterling for 15 years where she drove special education students whom she loved. Previously Ann was an EMT working for the Sterling E.M.S. She was a member of St. Richard of Chichester Church in Sterling and was deeply devoted to her family.

Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 26th, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Rd. (Rte. 12), Sterling. Her funeral will be held on Monday, September 27th, from the funeral home with an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge St., Sterling. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to the Sterling Firefighters Association, Inc., P.O. Box 1081, Sterling, MA 01564; or the Sterling E.M.S. Association, Inc., P.O. Box 597, Sterling, MA 01564.
