Ann T. O'Brien

WORCESTER - Ann T. (Grondine) O'Brien, 83, of Worcester, died Saturday, April 8, 2017 after an illness. She was the wife of Robert M. O'Brien, who died in 2005.

Ann leaves four daughters, Gail A. Graves and her husband Thomas C. Graves of Worcester, Jane A. O'Brien and her husband Paul K. O'Brien of St. Mary's, Georgia, Colleen A. Fallon and her husband Daniel R. Fallon III of West Boylston, and Kimberly A. O'Brien of Worcester; six granddaughters, six grandsons, and nine great-grandchildren. Her brother Albert Grondine Jr. predeceased her.

Ann was born in Uxbridge, daughter of Albert and Eileen (McGuire) Grondine. She has lived in Worcester for more than 50 years.

After graduating from Uxbridge High School, Ann became a secretary at the former Whitin Machine Works Co. in Whitinsville. She later worked many years on the staff at the David Hale Fanning Girls Trade School in Worcester.

Ann's husband Bob operated a hot dog truck for many years overlooking the Wachusett Reservoir in West Boylston. Ann's chili sauce recipe was a big part of his success. After Bob passed away, Ann managed the truck at the same location for several years.

Ann was a member of St. Joan of Arc Parish. For many years, she has faithfully joined a group of her friends most mornings at the Dunkin Donuts in West Boylston. Most importantly, she loved the time she spent with her family.

The funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 18 at 11 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
