Bobby O'Brien Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home and Chapel on Mar. 13, 2026.
Bobby O'Brien was born in Sioux City, Iowa, on November 17, 1940, and passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on March 7,2026 at the age of 85.

Bobby was a man known for his reliability, his stories, and his unwavering love for his family. He had a Type A personality and took pride in doing things the right way-whether that meant showing up at least fifteen minutes early to every event to make sure he had the best parking spot, keeping his hair perfectly in place, or making sure everything around him was neat and orderly. If something could be done well, he believed it should be done perfectly.

He was a familiar face at every school activity, never missing an opportunity to support the people he loved. His family always came first, and he worked hard to ensure they never went without. His dedication, presence, and quiet acts of care left a lasting mark on those closest to him.

Bobby had a gift for storytelling and loved sharing memories from years gone by. Those who knew him well could expect to hear his favorite story more than once-but that was part of his charm. Each telling came with the same enthusiasm and warmth that made people smile every time.

He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He loved Mexican food, and afternoons spent fishing. A fan of cowboys and classic western television shows, he appreciated the values of hard work, loyalty, and grit that those stories represented.

At home, Bobby took great pride in keeping a perfect yard. He carefully mowed and maintained the lawn while his wife tended to the garden, together creating a home that reflected their shared love, pride and care. Known as something of a clean freak, he kept everything around him spotless and organized.

He also gave his time to others, volunteering at the front desk of Integris Hospital, where his friendly presence and helpful nature made visitors feel welcome.

One of his proud moments was finally getting his "big truck," after years of pulling his fishing boat with his car-another reminder of his love for the water and the simple joys of life.

Above all else, Bobby will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, brother and friend. His discipline, humor, reliability, and love for family shaped a life that was both steady and meaningful.

Though he liked everything in life to be just right, the greatest thing he did was simply show up-for his family, for his friends, and for anyone who needed him. And he showed up every time, usually fifteen minutes early.

He is survived by his wife Crescencia O'Brien, son Chase O'Brien, son Bobby R. Obien, daughter Crystal O'Brien and brother Jimmy O'Brien.

He was preceded in death by his mother Opal Mae O'Brien and father Raymond O'Brien, sister Shirley, Betty and brother Billy O'Brien.
