Marolyne Spence Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home and Chapel on Mar. 13, 2026.
Marolyne Jean Spence, 74, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026. She was born on March 23, 1951.

Marolyne shared a special lifelong bond with her identical twin sister, who was also her best friend. Family was the center of her life, and she found great joy in spending time with loved ones, whether cooking for them, going out to eat together, or sharing stories about family history.

She had a deep passion for genealogy and devoted many hours researching and tracing her family lineage back several generations. Marolyne also enjoyed music, especially Elvis Presley and classic country music. She loved visiting the casino to play the slot machines and spending time with her beloved dogs.

A creative spirit, Marolyne enjoyed making ceramics and pottery. Her talent earned her recognition when she entered her work in the Oklahoma State Fair, where she proudly won second place.

Marolyne was known by family and friends for her warm hospitality and incredible cooking. It was often said she made the best pork chops and red beans and rice, and no meal was complete without her homemade cornbread.

She worked as an accountant for Liberty Bank in Oklahoma City and also served as a secretary for the local Iron Workers Union. Through her work and community, she built many lasting friendships.

Marolyne is survived by her loving husband, Al Spence, to whom she was married for 15 years; her sister, Carolyne Findley; her step-sister, Shelia McKeel; her brothers, Fred Rone and Steve Rone; and her cherished white long-haired Chihuahua, Colby. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her greatly.

She was preceded in death by her parents mother Avozee Smallwood and father Martin Talley, her daughter, Stephanie Goodin, and her beloved dogs Charlie, a black long-haired Chihuahua; Pebbles, a long-haired chocolate Chihuahua; and Shadow, her pug.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the John Ireland Funeral Home.
