Anne Dell'Olio Obituary

Anne M. "Nina" (Zollo) Dell'Olio, 94, of Worcester and Wells Beach Maine, died peacefully Monday January 17, 2011 surrounded by her loving family in the Christopher House. Her husband Angelo Dell'Olio died in 2003. Anne is survived by a son Louis E. Dell'Olio and his wife Laura of Worcester, a daughter Elizabeth "Betty" Chionchio and her husband Antonio of Wells Beach Maine, six grandchildren; Anthony, Maria-Elaina, Michael, Christina, Jessica, and Jason, sixteen great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. Anne was predeceased by a granddaughter Anne Porcaro, a brother Anthony Zollo, and four sisters; Amelia Daigle, her twin Josephine Mazzola, Flora Simone, and Mildred Zollo.

"Nina" was born in Worcester daughter of the late Salvatore and Angela (Colandro) Zollo and has lived here all her life. She was a graduate of Commerce High School. Anne worked at White's Cleaners in Shrewsbury for many years before she retired. Previous to that she was the owner along with her husband of Betty Ann's Bakery in Shrewsbury and later on Shrewsbury St. in Worcester. She was a life member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St. Ann Church, and the Bishop Wright Assembly Catholic Daughters of America where she also served as their secretary for many years. "Nina" was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking, and baking. Her most precious times were those spent being a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff of the Christopher House and the Jewish Home Hospice for their kindness and compassion shown to Anne and her family during her stay there.

Anne's funeral will be held Thursday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 12:30 PM in Our Lady of Mt Carmel-St Ann Church, 24 Mulberry St. Calling hours in the funeral home will be held from 4-7PM on Wednesday (tonight). Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery. In leiu of flowers contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St.Ann Church Renovation Fund. 24 Mulberry St.
