I grew up in the same neighborhood as Audrey Mancevice--she was a number of years my junior. Although I had not spoken with her directly in some time, I do know Audrey was a women of extraordinary strength of character before and during her long courageous battle with cancer. May her family and friends hold dear the lessons she taught. In sympathy and friendship,

I have known Audrey for 40 years. We grew up together in Holden. I have memories of us roller skating for hours up and down the steet until dark. One of my funniest memories was when she came with us to Maine and she and I rented horses at this "backward" horse rental place, they told us that the horses love to go through the pond so just pick up your feet and the horse will do the rest. Well, they failed to tell Audrey that her horse liked to roll in the pond, so you can imagine what happened. The water was the dirtiest "swamp" that I have ever seen and it decided to take Audrey for a swim. She didn't talk to me for a week!
For the last years of her life I can't beleive how hard she had to fight to go through life, it just doesn't seem fair, but she did it with such a positive attitude, I was truly in awe! My family and I will miss her dearly and hope she is at peace.
We love you Audrey!

My thoughts and prayers are with you all.I loved Audrey like she was my own sister and we fought and made up the same way.We were just chatting on Thanksgiving about her sisters fantastic pecan pie, we were laughing about our good times and bad and it felt great to reminisce. There's not much to be said that can really help at this time except she loved her family and she is not suffering anymore. She was a fighter and she gave it her best shot for sure.
