Barbara Gagliardi Obituary
MILLBURY - Barbara C. (Morin) Gagliardi, 80, left this earth on Monday, March 28th to be with her Lord & Savior. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Barbara was born in Worcester, her parents were the late Omer & Florence (Beauchesne) Morin.
She leaves her loving husband of 62 years, George John Gagliardi and her children, Debby Swenson and her husband Stanley, Stephen Gagliardi and his wife Wendy, Thomas Gagliardi and his wife Mary, Dennis Gagliardi and his wife Amy, John Gagliardi, Laurie Mellen and her husband Brian, Mark Prunier whom she referred to as her number 5 son. Barbara was blessed with 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She also leaves her sisters, Joan Hamilton and Nancy Consiglio and her husband Larry.
Barbara was a devoted mother and homemaker. She owned and operated her own salon, Village Beauty Nook for 23 years. She was very active in her church where she volunteered many hours teaching Sunday School and serving senior luncheons. She and her husband established the bread pantry at the Assembly of God Church in Worcester. She was a mentor and friend to many, always lending a hand, an ear or a shoulder, she touched so many people and will be missed by many.
She loved to travel to the White Mountains of NH and one of her favorite times was when her family and friends spent the annual weekend at the Big Blue House in VT.
A special thank you to her granddaughter Erica Monfreda, for taking Mem to all her appointments and for her wonderful care and attention.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 31st at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 1st in the funeral home. Burial will be private. Flowers may be sent or a memorial contributions may be made to the Millbury Historical Society, P.O. Box 367 Millbury, MA 01527.
