Barbara Nelson Obituary
Clinton - Barbara Ann (Moran) Nelson, 85, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, May 20, 2016. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 37 years, Ralph W. Nelson, Sr. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Ralph W. Nelson, Jr. & Joan, Debra Casasanto & Joseph, Judith O'Malley & Michael, all of Clinton; Thomas G. Nelson & Joanne of Belmont, NH; 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She is pre-deceased by her infant son David R. Nelson, sisters, Marie Ryder and Alice Loader.
Barbara was born in Clinton to the late Thomas & Catherine (Burke) Moran. She was a graduate of the Clinton High School, Class of 1948, and member of the cheerleading squad, who proudly wore the sweater of the last-N in CLINTON. Barbara went on to spend her professional career with Phoenix Plastics, where she ultimately retired as a supervisor after 20 years of employment. She was a woman of great faith and member of St. John the Guardian of Our Lady Parish in Clinton. Barbara was active in numerous organizations, and notably held membership with the Emblem Club, Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, St. John's Women's Club, and Red Hat Society. She served as a den mother for the Boy Scouts and as an assistant leader for Girl Scouts. She proudly cheered on all of her grandchildren at their sporting events and most enjoyed time spent in the company of her family. Funeral services are to be held on Monday, May 23, 2016 from the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St., Clinton. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Lancaster. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2016 from 5 until 8PM in the funeral home.
