Barbara Ryback, 95
NORTH BROOKFIELD - Barbara (Thompson) Ryback, 95, died Sunday, August 4, 2013 in Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in West Brookfield.
She leaves her daughter-in-law, Carole E. Ryback of North Brookfield; two granddaughters, Wendy E. Ryback-Soucy and her husband David of Hooksett, NH and Melissa A. Doherty and her husband David of Wilmington; five great-granddaughters, Julia, Kaitlyn, Lauren, Emily and Alison; a sister, Dorothy F. Sandman of North Brookfield and several nieces and nephews. Her husband of 59 years, Walter J. Ryback died in 1999 and her son, John F. Ryback died in 1995. She was born in North Brookfield daughter of the late John F. and Bertha (Doane) Thompson and was a lifelong resident of North Brookfield. She was a graduate of North Brookfield High School and Boston University College of Music in Boston where she graduated with a degree in music education.
Mrs. Ryback was a piano teacher for 45 years and played the organ at the Brookfield Unitarian Universalist Church in Brookfield for 47 years and also played the organ at several local funeral homes for many years.
Funeral Services for Barbara will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 1:00 PM in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield. There are no calling hours and burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the North Brookfield Emergency Squad, P.O.
