Beatrice Cass Obituary

Beatrice F. Cass, 91, of Westborough, died on Saturday, July 26, 2008, at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Joseph E. Cass, who died in 2003.

Born in Ayer, she was the daughter of the late J. Owen and Hazel (Brill) Keegan. She was educated in Ayer schools and was a graduate of Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing.

Mrs. Cass was employed as an RN at Worcester City Hospital for several years. She was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church, was a former Girl Scout Leader and volunteered at UMass Hospital in Worcester for 17 years.

She is survived by three sons, David J. Cass and his wife Linda of East Freetown, Joseph E. Cass, Jr. and his wife Maureen of Omaha, Nebraska and Richard J. Cass and his wife Linda of Sudbury; three daughters, Kathleen F. Herman and her husband Maurice of Potomac Falls, VA, Susan E. Leonard of Dover, NH and Sara M. Cass of Westborough. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Carol A. Hansbury.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 30, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in St. Luke's Cemetery.

Calling hours at the Britton-Summers Funeral Home, 4 Church St., Westborough, are Tuesday, July 29, from 5 to 8 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Westborough Fire/Ambulance Gift Fund, 42 Milk St., Westborough, MA 01581.
