Brian and I met at the Clark Memorial when we were both 6 years old. We were kicking a soccer ball back and forth. At one point the ball was in the middle between us. We both went to the ball and kicked it at the same time. The ball hit me in the face and I got a bloody nose.
The Dorval family lived on Walnut St, a short walk from the Clark. Brian took me home with him. Brian's mother, Lila, recognized me right away. She cleaned me up and took me home. Brian and I have been great friends since.
Brian was a great athlete. Whether it was tennis at the Clark, the swim team or playing 3 sports in high school, he always excelled. And yes, he was a great center fielder.
However, let us not forget the Brian was an excellent student. He attended Northeastern, not an easy college to get into.
Brian and I were life long friends and I miss him.
