Brian T. Holohan

Salem/Shrewsbury - Brian T. Holohan, 61, of Salem, MA formerly of Shrewsbury passed away peacefully at home on June 3, 2021. Brian was born in Worcester, MA on July 9, 1959, son of the late Michael J. and Marlene F. (Hebenstreit) Holohan. He was predeceased by his brother Kevin. He graduated from Shrewsbury High School in 1973 and graduated from Greenfield Community College, where his passion as an artist exploded.

Brian was the epitome of an artist. Art was his life and soul, his home served as his studio. Brian was kind-hearted, gifted at storytelling, a Martial Art's enthusiast, and always had a positive attitude in the face of his struggles and hardships. He was a devoted father and would move the earth and stars for his son Amsel.

A prolific painter, Brian had a keen interest in tall ships, maritime scenes, and angel wings. Brian was notable for getting around on his bicycle, visiting local cafés, parks, and the library for inspiration. Known for his bearhugs, Brian claimed the drumstick at Thanksgiving, enjoyed strong black coffee, and most of all, Brian had a generous spirit and loved his family.

Brian leaves his son Amsel Holohan of Salem and his five siblings: Michael J. Holohan and his wife Theresa of Holden, Jeanne M. Diehl and her husband Robert C. Diehl of Holden, Lisa M. Roehrl and her husband Gerhard of Munich, Germany, Kelly A. Flannery and her husband Kevin of Newton, Marlene T. Holohan and her husband John Reynolds of South Dartmouth. He also leaves sixteen nieces & nephews, and the many friends he touched in life.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend interment service on Friday, June 25, at 2PM at the Holohan family plot, Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury, MA.
