Catherine Cromidas Obituary

Catherine (Katy) Cromidas formerly of Auburn, Massachusetts and Ellicott City, Maryland passed away on July 15, 2010.

She was born September 9, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois to Louis and Helen Economakos. Katy was predeceased by her husband Anthony Cromidas and her siblings John, Jim, Mike and Stella.

Katy is survived by her son, Stacy and his wife Ruth; her daughter, Carol, and son-in-law Jim Martin; her grandchildren, Christopher, Stephanie, Rachel and Alexander and her 3 great grandchildren, Katie, Wrenn and Charlie.

Katy and Tony were owners of Astor's Spa in Worcester, Massachusetts. Katy also worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a secretary. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, bowling and card playing. She was a devoted mother, a loving grandmother and a loyal sister. She was especially proud of her Greek heritage.

Mrs. Cromidas will be laid to rest July 19, 2010 in her hometown of Chicago, Illinois.

Memorial donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1406 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, North Carolina 28401, the National Alzheimer's Association or St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 608 South College Road, Wilmington, NC 28403.

Although Mrs. Cromidas left Auburn several years ago, she'll always hold a special place in my heart. She was a fantastic neighbor and all around wonderful woman. She and Tony made the whole neighborhood a better place.
