Paul and Gail

I was thinking of your dad this morning, as I was getting ready for church. Probably because yesterday one of my granddaughters, age 9, was climbing high in a tree in our yard, and I told her the story of how Paul (aka Paulie at that time) fell out of our apple tree and broke his leg!
I have such fond memories of your entire family from our days together on Abbott Street. I also feel that your dad was a strong influence on my becoming a Christian. I remember going to Bible study and church with you at Bethesda. If you recall, our dad was Jewish, so we weren't formally brought up in any faith.

The last time I saw all of you was at Cheryl's funeral That was the first tragedy I experienced in my young life. The last time I recall seeing her prior to that, we were dancing together that was probably an eighth grade dance. She and I were such close friends when we were young.
Our mom died about 10 years ago. Her last few months were spent with Jeannie at the Cape, by chance her funeral was performed by a Lutheran minister who knew your dad well, which was somehow comforting
I am an MD , like my dad, practicing for many years in Tampa. If you are ever in this area, please text or call, would love to see you.
Fondly

Pastor Bergstrom and Lois were and will always be very important to me and my husband Bob. We were in his first church St. Mark's in Bridgeport, Ct. and his first confirmation class. There began our faith journeys which sustains me today and my husband until his death. Upon retirement they lived on Cape Cod next to my parents, So we continued our special bond in Christ. Thank yo God for blessing us with Pastor and Lois Bergstrom.

Pastor Bergstrom was a wonderful internship supervisor during my year at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1961-62, before returning for my senior year at Augustana Seminary in Rock Island, Illinois. After ordination in 1963 I went on to have a very active ministry in San Diego, California until 2014, and what I learned from that year with him was invaluable all the way to my retirement. I was always impressed with his many amazing ministries over the years and send all my sympathy and best wishes to his beautiful family which he loved so much.
