Charles T. Fosberry, 18

WORCESTER - Charles T. Fosberry, 18 of Worcester, passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021 with his family by his side in UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus after a courageous battle with leukemia.

Fosberry, all of Worcester; his maternal grandparents, George and Paulette LaBarre of Auburn; his paternal grandmother, Claire Fosberry of Gloucester; many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, William Fosberry.

Charlie was born in Worcester and was a lifelong resident of the city. He graduated from South High School where he attended the Goddard Scholars Program. Upon graduation, Charlie enrolled at Becker College and had been working for Shaw's Supermarket at the Webster Square Plaza.

While at South High School, Charlie was a member of the South High band, where he played the trumpet. He ran on the cross-country team and spent many days after school with his friends playing Dungeons and Dragons.

During his youth Charlie was part of the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 37, played AAA baseball for Jesse Burkett and volunteered for many years as an altar server at Our Lady of the Angels Church. Charlie also played the cello with the Joy of Music Orchestra, and took lessons there for many years. During his free time Charlie enjoyed gaming with his friends and could often be found drawing, but most of all he enjoyed being with his family.

The family would like to thank the Pediatric Staff and the Pediatric Oncology team at UMass Memorial Medical Center for their loving care of Charlie during his illness.

To the Fosberry family.
I had the honor of playing AAA baseball with Charles. Over the years I never forgot Charles, for he was the sweetest person I´ve ever been around, genuinely. recently I ran into some old teammates & asked if they knew what he had been up to. & I was saddened with the news. I distinctly remember him winning the championship for us. & no matter what happened he would always have a smile on his face & would lift everyone up. What a beautiful soul he had. I aspire to one day be like Charles & he will forever be in my memory. God bless.

To this beautiful family, I wish you peace and remembrance of better times. I lost my Day on the 25th as well. In fact, he is on this page. My heart goes out to you as we also lost a young person in our family a few years back. We know He has a plan for us all but its just so difficult when not under normal circumstances and we have to watch the turmoil and pain. Take comfort in knowing the found peace and joy your young man is surrounded by at this moment. We are with you. God bless.

There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of the power of love. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are messengers of overwhelming grief ...and unforgettable love. ---The journey to healing is long, the road often bumpy, but I promise you, there will be brightness in your days again. Allow yourself to feel what you feel, and take one day, one step at a time. --- In deepest empathy.

They are the words that cannot be found
streaming down our faces.
