Charles E. Naples, 77

WESTBOROUGH - Charles E. Naples, 77, of Westborough passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at home.

Born in Westborough, he was the son of the late Michael and Catherine (O'Hearn) Naples. He was educated in Westborough schools and was a 1958 graduate of Westborough High School.

He served with the National Guard from 1958-1960 and with the U.S Air Force from 1960-1964.

Charlie served the Town of Westborough as a call fireman for 22 years, with the Special Police for 20 years and for the Department of Public Works for 32 years prior to his retirement.

He was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church, was a member of the Veteran's Advisory Board, the Housing Authority, the VFW and the American Legion in Northborough.

Charlie is survived by one brother, Dominic Naples of Hudson, several nieces and nephews and his friend, Gabby, his pet cat.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 9, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the Veteran's Grove Section of Pine Grove Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

I Knew Charlie from the VFW and also that he worked with my Dad, Les Temple, at the DPW. Nice guy. Always enjoyed talking to him about the old days.

Charlie was a caring man who touched a lot of people. My parents were good friends of his for years(Robert Davenport and Davene (Davenport) Nelson. I use to call him Uncle charlie. I will miss him. My condolences to his family and friends.
