I was so sorry to hear of your loss. The thoughts of many are with you at this time of sorrow.

February 5, 2010

Before I became an employee at Braun's I was delivering parts to Brauns were I met Chuck. I told him I knew how to drive a straight truck. So he told me they would be hiring in a couple of weeks, and I should go upstairs and fill out an application. Instead I got back in my truck, and Chuck stop me and said go up stairs and fill one out and don't see anyone but me. So two weeks went by,and on the thrid week Chuck came by my job and asked me what my plans were tomorrow, so I could meet with Dave and then told me the job was mine. I will always appreciate what Chuck did for me to get the job.

My Condolences,
Paul Barboza

Mr. & Mrs. Patton, Donna, Lynn and the entire Patton Family, My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Just know in time your tears will turn to smiles, with wonderful memories of "Chucky." He was always a great guy and good friend to my family esp. my Brother. I remember his Chevy Hot Rod. Boy he loved that car. It was all about Cars and Trucks with my Brother and Chucky and all the other guys that they would hang out with. It has been over 34 years. Just the rush of memories of simpler times in Bellingham... I remember when Chucky and Lynn first started dating... I have memories Of Lynn, Donna and Mrs. Patton going camping with the Girl Scouts. I have fond memories of Bellingham of course, my home town. So of course when my Brother Joe(Butch)Cortese called me from Connecticut to tell me about Chucky. I just had to send my condolences. We were all very fortunate to have had known a gentle soul as Chucky. Much Love, Cindy Cortese Cimetta

CHUCK 2/3/10
A LONG TIME AGO FAR FROM THIS DAY
THIS EVENT WAS DESTINED TO BE PLAYED,
I HOPE YOU WERE READY FOR WE WERE NOT
HUNDREDS OF FRIENDS HAVE PAIN IN THEIR HEARTS.

WHEN YOU ARE IN HEAVEN AND WAITING AROUND
FOR YOUR LOVE ONES WHO CAN'T BE FOUND,
THEY WILL COME IN THEIR GOOD TIME
WHEN YOU WILL ALL GATHER TO DRINK SUMMER WINE.

UNTIL THEN IF YOU NEED A FRIEND
LOOK FOR " LEROY " AND TELL HIM TO SIT,
YOU CAN "BORROW" HIM TILL I GET THERE
HE'S A GOOD FRIEND AND REALLY CARES.

HE WILL KEEP YOU BUSY AND HELP TIME PASS
RUNNING AND FETCHING IN SOFT GREEN GRASS,
HE'S A LOYAL PROTECTOR AND A GOOD FRIEND
BUT WHEN I GET THERE I WANT HIM BACK AGAIN!

I am so sorry to hear of Chuck's passing. I had hoped to be there for the funeral, but I came down with a bug. I was there in spirit and thinking of all the good times and Chucky's 50th birthday party and the wonderful time, we all had. There will be a big loss to you all, but the memories are much larger. He was definitely, one of a kind, and will be surely missed. You all now have, your own personal angel, up in heaven ,watching over , all of you. My love and condolences to all of you.

Words can not express how trully sorry I am for your loss. I loved the stories you often told about your husband and it was clear how much you loved and treasured eachother. To Lynn and the whole family, I know that words do very little to sooth the hurt and pain at a time like this but it does help to know that there are friends who are there to support you through this trying time. I enjoyed working with and spending time with Chuck over the last 13 years that we have worked together. This is still such a shock to me. Chuck is going to be greatly missed by myself as well as many others. I pray that God will wrap his loving arms around each of you and comfort you during the days and weeks ahead.

Love your sister and best friend.

I love you ladies so much and I cry at night thinkig about your incredible pain. Please know you are in my thoughts, for whatever possible comfort that can bring.

Dear Mrs. Patton and Family,
I knew Chuck professionally via Braun's Express's participation in a voluntary industry/government partnership program to improve fuel efficiency in trucking called SmartWay Transport. Chuck was a true leader in embracing new fuel-efficient technology, working hard to make it succeed for Braun's, and sharing his deep expertise with industry peers. He never failed to agree to speak on panels-- in spite of the fact that public speaking was obviously not his favorite hobby-- to help others understand how to replicate his successes and steer clear of pitfalls he'd encountered. Fellow fleet managers who heard his presentations expressed great appreciation for his wisdom. Even though I knew him just a little through this work, I could tell that he was a very dear person. You have my heartfelt sympathy. --Abby Swaine, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
