Christopher Seger Obituary

Christopher F. Seger, 51

NEW YORK, NY - Christopher F. Seger, 51, of New York, New York, passed away unexpectedly on February 23, 2021 from complications of COVID.

He leaves his beloved mother, Susan Blanchette (Seger) of Woodstock, CT; his beloved sister Jean Seger and her husband Richard Kusy of Manchester, CT, and his beloved life partner and best friend, Adam Grossman of Hampton Bays, LI. He also leaves aunts, uncles, cousins from both the USA and the UK, and many many friends.

Chris was born January 27, 1970 in Putnam, CT and lived in Thompson, CT. He attended Thompson Elementary School, was on the Honor Roll and then went on to graduate from Marianapolis Preparatory School, class of 1988. Chris then attended Bradford College in MA, class of 1992, and graduated Magna Cum Laude. After graduating college, Chris lived in several different areas including Boston, MA, Provincetown, MA, San Diego, CA. He then lived in Hampton Bays, LI with Adam for many years. Chris then returned to New York City, the city he loved.

Chris loved to travel, visiting the Islands of Greece, London, Paris, San Francisco and many other places.

He had a long and successful career in health care media relations. He was instrumental in getting coverage for numerous new medical breakthroughs in some of the most prominent magazines and publications.

Chris needed to know the who, why, what, when and absorbed as much knowledge as he could. He enjoyed reading, the arts, museums, Broadway, all kinds of music, photography, fine dining at well-known restaurants but also a couple of hot dogs from one of the vendors on the streets of NYC. He enjoyed window shopping with family, deep conversations about politics, sitting on the beach, sailing in LI with Adam and his parents, Janet and Karl Grossman and was an avid movie watcher.

His charm, wit, sense of humor and passion touched many lives and he will be missed by all. Chris lived life to the fullest and many peoples' lives were enriched from having known him.

To know him was to love him.

We will miss him forever.

A celebration of life date is to be determined.

"Jiggy"

March 15, 2021

Chris was an integral part of my life from the ages of 12-33. Some of my most cherished memories were with him. No one made me laugh with more passion than Chris. To know him was to love him...indeed!

My first memory of Chris was when he was wheeled into our 6th grade classroom. Yes, wheeled. He had broken both legs while attempting to downhill ski for the first (and last!) time. That memory is forever ingrained.

Chris and I were as opposite as opposite can possibly be; yet, we were two peas in a pod. Like peanut butter and jelly. We just went together.

I was the one to lead Chris to his first (and last?) car. The green Pinto! It had dents by week one. I recall his father teaching him how to drive. I still laugh "hearing" Chris relive that experience and his father panicking and yelling, "Where's the FIRE?!?!!!!"

His laugh...! I've never encountered another soul whose laughter was so pure and outrageous. That memory has remained with me for 38 years. Chris gave me the nickname, "Jiggy" because of the expressions I made with my face as he made me laugh.

I promise to continue dancing in his memory to our song, "Safety Dance." I have never ceased loving my dear friend. I am eternally grateful for his life and the loads of colossal memories.

Susan, Jean, and Adam-
My deepest condolences.
