We want to thank everyone who expressed their condolences. Danny was very luck to have so many friends who thought enough of him to leave their thoughts and memories for his family.
Athough we are struggling with the suddenness of Danny's death we have gotten strength from all of you.
Thank you all for caring.

My deepest sympathies to Danny's family. Every time that the old gang (Ellen M., Mike P., Tom L., Tom B., Terry H., Stella and Bobo) would get together, we would always remember Danny and his humor and hope to see him soon. Life unfortunately has different plans. May you rest in peace old friend.

In loving memory of a wonderful person, my wife, Yun, and I consider ourselves privileged to be able to say we were friends of Dan, he was always fast wit and fund to be with but most of all a caring and kind person. He never quit caring for Soldiers and their families even after he retired from active duty, he was a true Noncommissioned Officer. As a fellow MP and both serving in the Army in the late 70s, (it was another world back then), we spent hours sharing war stories and memories. I was always impressed and in awe by Dan's eagerness to help anyone and everyone. The way he could relate to and carrying on a conversation with anyone regardless if they were the highest ranking military member, a college professor with numerous doctorate degrees, or a brand new Soldier with barely a high school education just off the street of some big city, was truly an amazing talent and gift. Dan was a mentor to my wife and me after my retirement from the Army and helped us both obtain employment that we can never thank him enough for; I will miss him and wish I had talked more to keep in touch and talk with him in the last few years. God bless you and your family.

To the Burke Family. I never met Dan. He was the Burke who was far away in some exotic place. But knowing all of you, I am sure he was one special person.
That is what we should focus on now.
Sorry for your loss

Dan was a friend and colleague in Korea. He truly loved helping people (especially Soldiers). Between his time in the military and later in education he over 30 years of service. His efforts directly helped thousands of Soldiers develop professionally and achieve their educational goals. He was always a person you could count on. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. He will be missed!

Rest Well My Friend - Go Sox!!!

Dana White

Dan and were friends for nearly 18 years (since 1993)- we had a friendly rivalry as I am an avid NY Yankees fan - well you know Dan - slam me everytime he cold when Boston Red Sox did well and the 4 game come back in the World Series - he never let me live that one down :)

We worked together in Korea always having fun - I remember Dan as always happy, quick with joke, and ready to volunteer his services if needed. Loved his Dogs and wife too!

I will always remember the "Silver Fox" as I affectionately called him as a happy person, true friend...loved him like he was my younger brother.

My deepest condolences to his family, friends, loved ones.
I miss him already!

With Love & Respect
Mr. Dana F. White, Seoul, South Korea

I did not know your son Daniel but when
I saw he is a brother Military Police
my heart grieved. I spent 11 years befor getting my 100% disability.
The other reason I am writing is there is a Memorial Page for former Military Police members and would like to pass it along.Coming from Northborough and now living in Florida it would hav e been an honor to meet him.
here is the link and maybe you can post
something about him on that site
From one brother MP to another I will say a prayer for him.

Dear Steve and Eddie, I'm so sorry to read of the loss of Danny. We dated briefly at Wachusett and of course he was an awesome hockey player. I'm so glad I got to see you guys at Harrington farm a few years back and enjoyed a dance with Danny. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this sad time.Kathy McNutt Potvin
