Daniel Sund Obituary

Daniel L. Sund, 56, passed away peacefully, Sunday, May 3, 2009, surrounded by his loving family following a very courageous battle with leukemia. He was a son of the late Roland W. and Victoria (Rossi) Sund of Worcester; husband of Sandra F. Paradiso of Shrewsbury; father of (the best kids in the world) Kristen M. Sund of Amherst and Nicholas B. Paradiso and Hayley V. Sund of Shrewsbury; brother of David C. Sund of Silver Spring, MD; and uncle to several nieces and nephews.

He graduated from Worcester North High in 1970 and from Northeastern University, Boston, in 1975. He attended MBA program with Nichols College. He was employed by Brookline, MA public schools ('75-'77); held several managerial and senior contributor positions in the Customer Service Logistics organization of Digital Equipment Corp ('77-'83), Data General Corp and EMC Corp ('84-'02); Massachusetts Licensed Realtor and Residential Appraiser ('02-'07); and most recently was employed by Park Place International Corp in Uxbridge, MA as a Service Account Manager.  He was an avid sports fan and especially basketball and the Celtics. Dan was involved for many years as coach with various Shrewsbury youth sports programs.

The funeral service will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester on Thursday, May 7, at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel Wednesday, May 6, from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Daniel L. Dearest Sandie,Kristen,Nick,Hayley and all other family members. This has been difficult news and hard to express the feelings we have. God has taken Dan to Heaven where he is now at peace.
