David Couture Obituary

David J. Couture, 55

SHREWSBURY/WORCESTER - Dave Couture died unexpectedly on March 15, 2015 in UMASS Medical Center. He was 55.

Born on October 4, 1959 in Worcester he was the son of Eneas Jerome 'Jerry' and Joan M. (Miller) Couture. He graduated with the class of 1977 from Shrewsbury High School where he was an athlete and followed his mother's passion and talent for playing tennis among other sports. He earned an associate degree from Fisher Junior College and began his professional career at American Optical in Framingham. Shortly thereafter he joined his dad in his business in sales and other positions at Cochituate Motors in Wayland and later at Jerome Chevrolet in Framingham. For the last 18 years he was working in the finance and insurance department of Tuck's Trucks in Hudson. He had belonged to the Chevrolet Society of Sales Executives.

Dave Couture was a guy's guy. He loved hanging out with his friends at the Brown Square Civic Club in Worcester where he served as president and on its board of directors for years. Among his passions was athletics. As a kid he was inducted to the 'Who's Who in Baseball Hall of Fame' in Cooperstown. Dave loved New England sports including the Patriots and Red Sox and was an avid fisherman most especially in deep-sea fishing.

Mourning his loss are his parents, Jerry and Joan Couture of Shrewsbury; his sister, Cheryl J. Lonardo and her husband, Fred of Holden; his niece, Nicole Lonardo and nephew Daniel Lonardo of Holden; many cousins and a host of good friends.

Family and friends will honor and remember Dave's life by gathering for calling hours at Heald & Chiampa Funeral Directors ~ The Sumner House, 5 Church Road, On the Common, Shrewsbury Center on Monday, March 23rd from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday morning in St. Francis Episcopal Church, 70 Highland Street, Holden where his Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. The Rev.
