David Covello Obituary

David F. Covello 58

Worcester - David F. Covello, 58, of Worcester passed away unexpectedly Sunday, February 11, 2018 with his family by his side from complications of the flu.

David was born in Worcester, son of the late Samuel J. Covello, Sr and Barbara (Brunelle) Covello. Raised in Worcester, David graduated from North High School and began his career with the former Digital Equipment Company. He soon thereafter met Saiyood Luangyotha. They married in 1983, and settled in the neighborhood David grew up in raising their family with love and devotion. David worked at UMass Medical School in Transportation and receiving for over 10 years before retiring.

David is survived by his wife Saiyood; his two sons, Zachary D. and Jacob F. Covello of Worcester; six brothers, Samuel J. Covello, Jr. of Worcester, Paul R. Covello, of Auburn, Michael R. Covello, of Worcester, John A. Covello of Jenson Beach Florida, Anthony F. Covello of Worcester, and Stephen J. Covello of Stuart, Florida; an Aunt, Uncle, Many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

David was a member of St John Church. He loved sports, especially watching the New England Patriots, tending his garden, being with family and friends. He was also at peace in the outdoors, hunting, fishing and just experiencing the nature.

Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Wednesday, February 14th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral will be celebrated Thursday, February 15th from the funeral home with a procession to St John Church, 44 Temple St where his celebration of life Mass will be held at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in St John's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St John Church Food Pantry, 40 Temple St. 01604.

I was sorry to learn of David's recent passing. My cousin, Donna Northover, texted me the obituary the afternoon of the wake but I could not make the services. Please accept my condolences. David was a very kind, caring guy. He passed away too young.

My deepest condolences to the Covello family for your loss. As teenagers growing up on Sunderland Road, Dave was always a true friend to me. We lost touch but managed to see one another at the supermarket at times. Dave would light up when talking about his family when we caught up. I am so sorry to the Covello family for your loss.
