David P. Roberts, 74

UXBRIDGE - David P. Roberts, 74 of N. Uxbridge died Mon. June 23 at home surrounded by his loving family and wife of 42 years Linda A. (Brusa) Roberts. He is survived by his 5 children; Shannon Sweeney and son-in-law David Sweeney, Patrick Roberts and his fiance' Lindsay , John Roberts and his wife Patricia , Cindy Brochu and her husband Jeff, Lee Roberts ; his sister-in-law Diane Roberts ; 3 siblings, John Roberts and his wife Nancy, Kathleen Mulcahy and her husband James, and Marion Keaney; 6 grandchildren, Preston, Jaimy, Timothy, Kristopher, John and Matthew; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and beloved Brody and Guinness. He was predeceased by a daughter, Kim Roberts and a brother Daniel Roberts. Born in Worcester, MA on Aug. 14, 1939 he was the son of Patrick J. and Mary (Doyle) Roberts and lived in Whitinsville for 25 years before moving to Uxbridge 15 years ago.

He was a graduate of the former Worcester Boys Trade and Fitchburg State College. David worked as an appliance repair and refrigeration instructor for Assabet Valley High School in Marlboro for 23 years. He was a WWII history buff and served in the National Guard. He enjoyed traveling with family in his motorhome. He will be fondly remembered as playing Santa for many years.

His funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Sat., June 28 at Good Shepherd Church, 121 Linwood St., Linwood. There are no calling hours. To leave a condolence message for the family, please visit http://www.jackmanfuneralhomes.com/

I was so sad to learn of Dave's passing. He was a wonderful neighbor and such a loving, good man. I was always so happy to see you out and about after I moved away. Dave had a way of making me feel very special each time he saw me. Linda...you were amazing with him. I pray for continued comfort and peace for all of you.
