Douglas Duval Obituary
He was born in Leominster, on Dec. 28, 1977 and had lived in Fitchburg all of his life before moving to Lunenburg just recently. He graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1996 and attended New Hampshire Technical Institute.
DJ was a foreman for Todd Rivers Inc. for the past 10 years. Before his girls were born, DJ enjoyed hunting, fishing, and hiking and most recently enjoyed snowmobiling.
He leaves his two daughters, whom he cherished: Geena R. Duval and Deven J. Duval of Fitchburg; his estranged wife, Danielle R. (Cote) Duval of Fitchburg; his mother, Dale L. (Rivers) Duval of Fitchburg; his father and step-mother, Douglas S. Duval, Sr. and Judi (Cloutier) Duval of Lunenburg; his sister, Christie J. Fernstrom and her husband Mark of Fitchburg; a nephew, Matthew Keep and a niece, Lucy Fernstrom both of Fitchburg; two step-brothers: Jeffrey Vaillette and Nicholas Vaillette; a step-sister, Amanda Vaillette; his Godparents, Philip and Judy Rivers of Westminster as well as many uncles, aunts and cousins.
DJ's funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, Aug. 8, at 10 AM in St. Joseph's Church, 49 Woodland St., Fitchburg. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery in Fitchburg. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Aug. 7, from 3-7 PM in the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home of Lunenburg, 763 Massachusetts Ave.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christie Fernstrom for the benefit of Geena and Deven Duval, c/o Family Federal Savings Bank, 130 Whalon St., Fitchburg, MA 01420 or the Danielle Duval Children's Benefit Fund, 15 Moran Square, Leominster, MA 01453. www.masciarelli

DJ was a blessing to everyone that knew him. We need to find solace in the happy memories and joy that he brought us. No one will ever forget that smile, that laugh, those cheeks. We will miss that sweet face for a lifetime, without a doubt.

When I saw the news paper I was shocked to read what happened. The last time I saw Doug was right as we left middle school to go to high school. More recently I bumped into his father with Doug's two little girls at the dentist office within the last year or so. I can not imagine how hard this is for the family especially his two little girls.
