Ryan Duval Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home on Jan. 23, 2026.
Ryan Nelson Duval, 44, beloved husband of Jill (Loughlin) Duval, of South Windsor passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Yale New Haven Hospital, surrounded by loved ones. Ryan was born in Robbinsville, NJ, on December 17, 1981, the son of Monica A. (Dadson) Duval and the late Gregory C. Duval.

Ryan grew up in South Windsor and graduated from South Windsor High School in 2000. He went on to graduate with a dual degree in electrical/mechanical engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology with the Class of 2005. Ryan had an elite understanding of mechanics and engineering, working for many years at Lenox Tool and then more recently at Collins Aerospace.

Ryan met and married the love of his life, Jill Loughlin, on September 19, 2009, settling in South Windsor where they had 3 children over the last 14 years. Ryan was a devoted family man and was also known by many as the man who could fix anything. Whether it was repairing a car, building something from scratch, or lending a steady hand, he was always ready to help anyone in need.

Ryan had a lifelong love for cars (especially his vintage Mustang), RC cars, quads, and mini trucks, and he found joy in anything with an engine or a challenge. He loved the outdoors and treasured time spent at the family cabin in Pennsylvania, where he enjoyed hunting and gathering with friends. Some of his happiest memories were made on family vacations, whether it be by the ocean, skiing in the mountains, or the winding roads of Hawaii and Italy.

Along with his wife of over 16 years Jill, he leaves his three children who were his everything; Kylie Elizabeth Duval, McKenna Leigh Duval, and Gavin Gregory Duval all of South Windsor; his mother, Monica of South Windsor; his brother, Derek W. Duval of Windsor; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas and Mary Loughlin of Norwood, MA; his brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law, Dan Loughlin of Walpole, MA, Jaime Rice and her her husband Brad of Seattle, WA, and Leigh Loughlin of Boston, MA; his nieces and nephew, Emerson, Evangeline, Harper, and Hudson, and many other extended family member and friends.

His family will receive friends for calling hours on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 4-8 p.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, 11 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the request of his family.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes contributions to custodial accounts created for Ryan's children. Donations can be made via Venmo at @teamduval, with "Duval Children – custodial gift" noted in the memo.
