Charles Morris Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home on Jan. 30, 2026.
Charles "Chuck" John Morris, 68, of East Windsor, beloved husband of Lynn Billings Morris, died unexpectedly on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Hartford Hospital. Chuck was born in Hartford, CT, on March 16, 1957, son of the late Charles G. Morris Jr., and Lucy (Rizza) Morris.

He grew up in Vernon and was a graduate of Rockville High School with the Class of 1975. Charles attended Manchester Community College and later trained to become an electrical contractor.

Chuck met and married the love of his life, Lynn Billings on June 23, 1979. Together they settled in East Windsor where they raised a family and have spent the last 41 years together. He owned and operated Morris Electric for many years. Chuck also worked as a stagehand in Hartford and then a set designer in New York City. He was a member of Local 84 in Hartford and Local 52 in New York City. He also served as past president of Local 84.

He had a love for music, especially bluegrass, and attended the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival each year since 1992. An avid sports fan, he and Lynn had a shared passion for the UConn Huskies men's and women's basketball teams, and he was also a Chicago White Sox fan. Chuck loved to travel with his wife and enjoyed Broadway shows and visiting wineries. He had planned to travel with Lynn this spring to Italy. Chuck had a passion for cooking and wine. His grandchildren had a special place in his heart, and he cherished every moment he had to spend attending school functions and sporting events. He was a kind, generous, loving man with a great sense of humor. He would drop everything to help anyone in need. He will be dearly missed.

Along with his wife of over 46 years, Lynn, he leaves his children, Charles Bilings Morris and his partner Kaylin Anderson of Enfield, Kyle Christopher Morris of East Windsor, and Stephanie Lynn Flowers and her partner Kevin Brown of Monson, MA; his beloved grandchildren, Katie Wheaton, Christopher Morris, Colton Flowers, and Kayla Flowers; his sisters, Suellyn Hurley and her husband Jim of Marlborough, Karen Boulais and her husband Norman of Vero Beach, FL, Sally Morris and her wife Maureen Powers of Randolph, MA; his brother, Todd Morris and his wife Wendi of Stafford; his sisters-in-law, Donna Minor and her husband Paul of Eastford, Sue Downs of Vernon, and Pam Clark and her husband James of Brownfield, ME, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other family members and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Charles G. Morris, Jr. and Lucy (Rizza) Morris, his father in law, Roger F. Billings, mother-in-law, Sandra (Fiske) Billings, and son-in-law, Cory Flowers.
