In Loving Memory of Pastor Kenneth McNally
Pastor Kenneth Ray McNally, 78, of East Windsor and most recently
Ellington, CT, went home to be with the Lord on February 7, 2026. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and pastor, he was surrounded by his loving wife and family as he entered the presence of his Heavenly Father. Ken was born in his family home in
Ashland, Maine, on September 3, 1947, to the late Charles and Margaret (Brown) McNally. He is survived by his wife, Donna (Page) McNally, who served faithfully alongside him throughout his life and ministry. The two were married in 1966 in a small country church on his 19th birthday. Ken and Donna shared their years together as the best of friends. Their devotion and love for one another was evident to all, and Ken remained head over heels for Donna until his very last breath.
Pastor McNally's life was one of faithful and humble service. His walk with Christ began with his salvation in 1974 and in 1985 he was ordained to be a preacher of the Gospel. He served full time as a pastor of Bethany Baptist Church in
Broad Brook, CT for 34 years. The last five years of his ministry were spent alongside his son, Pastor Chris McNally. Ken worked hard so all things were done "decently and in order," and he could often be found meticulously caring for the church grounds and building. He also served for many years on the Board of Directors at Camp Northfield in
Northfield, MA, where he spent many days supporting the director, mowing the grass, or doing anything that needed to be done. He was known by so many to be a gentle man of God, showing love and kindness to all until the very last mile of his race on earth was run.
"And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted
me faithful, putting me into the ministry;"
I Timothy 1:12
More important to him than his role as pastor were Ken's roles as husband, father, and especially grandfather. He deeply cherished his 12 grandchildren, and his absence leaves a hole in each of their hearts. Whether going out for breakfast, sneaking marshmallows and M&Ms, or having impromptu pizza parties in his home after church, Ken loved spoiling his grandchildren. More importantly, he taught each of them in the way they should go, leaving behind for them a legacy of service and love. Ken looked forward to meeting his late grandson, Caleb McNally, in glory.
"Children's children are the crown of old men; And the glory of
children are their fathers."
Proverbs 17:6
Since 2014 Ken fought a valiant battle with Parkinson's Disease. Every day he made intentional, hard fought e orts to slow down a disease that threatened to steal both body and mind.
Ken is survived by many who will miss him dearly but are comforted with the knowledge that he is with his Savior in Glory. He leaves behind his loving children: Christopher (Charleen) McNally of Enterprise, AL; Jennifer (Scott) Krogman of
Ellington, CT; and Gregory (Jenn) McNally of Springfield, MA. His grandchildren: Caitlin (Jacob) Wasem, Christiana (Thomas) Jackson, Emma Krogman, Chelsea (Dominique) Lobban, Jack Krogman, Claire (Andrew) Kirby, Zoe McNally, Christopher (Piper Small) McNally, Abigail (Eddie Hunt) Krogman, Robert McNally, Camille McNally, and Cole McNally. His step-grandchildren, Daniel Abelin and Benjamin Murphy. His cherished great-grandchildren: Thomas Earl, Adeline Page, and Harrison Tucker Jackson.
Ken is also survived by his siblings: Patricia (Donald) Van Wormer, Charlotte (Jim) Vessey, Daniel (Melissa) McNally, Stephen (Sue) McNally, and Richard (Cindy) McNally.
"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always
abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is
not in vain in the Lord."
1 Corinthians 15:58
