Earl King Obituary

Earl C. King, 77, of Douglas St. died Mon. July 28, at Sunbridge Care and Rehab in Milford.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Mary E. (McGarrigle) King; a son David E. King of Uxbridge; two daughters Kathy M. Allaire and her husband Danny of Killingly, CT and MaryEllen Cole and her husband Sean of Uxbridge; 6 grandchildren Katy, Liz, Steven, and Nicholas Allaire and Emily and Teddy Cole; and a sister Ruth Lubas of Northbridge. He was predeceased by his son Wayne R. King in 1974.

Born in Douglas on June 7, 1931, he was the son of the late Norman and Mae (Lambert) King and lived in Uxbridge all of his life. He was educated in the Uxbridge Public schools and served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. King was the custodian at Our Lady of the Valley School in Uxbridge for 19 years retiring in 1997. Previously he worked at Bernat Yarns and part time at the Nydam Farm for over 30 years. He was a member of the VFW Post 6342 in Forestdale, R.I., enjoyed his pool, feeding birds and spending time with his family particularly his grandchildren.

His graveside funeral service will be held on Sat., Aug. 9th at 11a.m. in St. Mary's Cemetery, Granite St., Uxbridge. A reception will follow at the Polish Hall in Uxbridge. There are no calling hours. Donations may be made to the Uxbridge Senior Center, 50 S. Main St., or to the Uxbridge Ambulance Fund, 25 S. Main St., both Uxbridge, MA 01569.
