Elizabeth Scherer Obituary

Elizabeth Mary (Sullivan) Scherer, 86, passed away Sunday, March 8 in the McLean Home in Simsbury, CT.

Her husband, Richard P. Scherer, Sr. passed away in 1989. She leaves her two loving children: Richard P. Scherer, Jr. and his wife, Donna of Uxbridge and Annmarie Tepper and her husband, Dr. Jeffrey Tepper of Avon, CT; four grandchildren: Richard and Brianna Scherer and Craig and Renee Tepper and many nieces and nephews. Two sisters: Grace Cutroni and Cecelia Hester predeceased her.

She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Thomas J. and Elizabeth H. (Anthony) Sullivan and graduated from Ascension High School. She grew up in Worcester and lived in Northborough for over 50 years. Mrs. Scherer worked at Norton Company for many years, before retiring. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church.

The funeral will be Thursday, March 12 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Rose of Lima Church, 244 West Main St., Northborough. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, March 11 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Jimmy Fund, c/o Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445. Attention: Contribution Services.
